This is the picture of Mt. Yamnuska. It looks like profile. As you can see from this side, it is a huge wall.
Little bit cloudy day but temperature was just right. Not too hot, not too cold… at least for people who survived winter here, 5 to 10 °C is comfortable.
May is still early enough to see a lot of snow, especially this day because last two days, mountains got fresh snow dumped.
The opposite side of mountain, the other side which I described profile. This side it is hikable.
We merged with another group. Since there was much snow, we let them go first and followed their tracks. Hehehe
See, how deep it is. I wasn't even standing on the bottom.
I love when snow get involved because it makes it so much fun, but I never had hiked when there is as much fresh snow as this day. Felt like I was exploring.
This is Kevin. Not the NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick. He is Trace's buddy and he is an experienced hiker.
See it is a wall. Kevin says people come here to rock climb.
Few months ago a dumb Calgarian tried to kill himself by jumping off from two floor build… I have two tips for him. If you really want to die, don't jump from two floor building. Jump from higher place like here. Secondly if you really really want to die, don't do it in city because public and cops will try to stop you. Again go some where like here where nobody will stop you.
This is about 2000 m high.
Looks fun to ski.
This was the cable we supposed to hand on to go farther, but as you can see snow was so deep it was even covered in the snow. This cable was supposed to be 4 feet above footing. We called the day here.
"No way dude…" they say
We went as far as we could safely with our skill level and equipments.
Oh well maybe next time we will get to the top
There is always funny one in every party. Who's this clown?
