New Year scramble at Ruby Ridge in Waterton N.P. I enjoyed a cold but beautiful day. I don't know what to expect from 2011.

Chester Lake 11

Joined up with Meetup's Scrambers. Under ok weather we headed to Chester Lake ski touring.

Fortress Ski Hill

Crazy peeps took me to closed Fortress ski resort under sketchy avalanche conditon, however ski condition was great.

Opal Ridge South

Another off-route scrambling with Shaun at Opal Ridge South. Lots of challenges and route-finding was a lot of fun. The best part, we still made it to the top.

Sulphur Mountain 11

Back to Sulphur Mountain in Banff townsite. However this time I wasn't doing solo evening hike, I joined Scramblers from Meetup.com.

Great View Ridge

Our objective was Mount Normad, but we couldn't get to it instead we ended up on a high point of unnamed ridge.

Three Lakes Valley

Ever since I came to Three Lakes Valley in summer I wanted to come back in winter. So here it is despite of cold wind, I was still satisfied.

Ski at Narao Peak

Another cold and dull winter day. Because of that we had to change our plan. I guess I shouldn't be complaining as long as I can get out.

Narao Peak Attempt

Inspired by previous week's ski trip, I came back to Narao Peak. However this time I aimed the summit. This was one of my favorite winter scrambles so far.

Ski at Crowfoot Mountain

Plan A was not doable. Plan B was rejeced. We only had Plan C which was YOYO SKIINIG… I hate it I hate it I hate it!!

Spoon Needle North Peak

Small peak but still a peak. I attempted Spoon Needle. I couldn't get to the highest point, but close enough I guess.

Crevasse Rescue Course at Athabasca Glacier

Glacier travel and crevasse rescue course which I really wanted to take. Now if someone falls into a crevasse, I have a choice to rescue the person or cut the rope.

Crowfoot Mountain

I don't know what to say when I have such a beautiful day and view. Crowfoot Mountain is one of my favorites of all time.

Skoki Ski Lodge

After a day of spring snow storm, the weather made a 180 degree turn. Joined CSMC's ski touring at Skoki. I was loving this spectacular blue sky.

Bow Peak

We got lucky with weather and had another successful peak ascent and view at Bow Peak. I still have to come back in summer here though!

Dolomite Peak Circuit

Back to Bow Lake area for another ski touring. I had high hope of fantastic views from Dolomite Peak Circuit, instead I got lots of white.

Canyon Creek Ice Cave

The weather forecast for the weekend was terrible, so I decided to stay inside. Yup, inside of Canyon Creek Ice Cave.

Boundary Peak

Long drive to Columbia Icefiled for Boundary Peak and little more. Having Mount Athabasca right beside all day long offered a great hike!

Parker Ridge West Peak

After Boundary Peak, I still had enough time to do another one, so I picked Parker's Ridge. I did't get to the true highpoint of this peak though.

Wasootch Ridge Attempt

I have never thought I had to trun around on hikig peak, but I did. However how I went wasn't really hiking route which I didn't realize while I was there.

The Tower South Ridge

Another unknown but will try anyway trip to south ridge of The Tower. I didn't make it to the south peak but still was very satisfying day.

Mount Hector

I skipped Little Hector and went for Mount Hector ski ascent with CSMC. Over 3300 m is my first time since Mount Ball in last summer.

Mount Sarrail

My first time invading to Aster Lake area in Kananaskis Country. I decided to go for Mount Sarrail to test my new gear, bivy.

Eagle Mountain

With Ben, Heather, and Brad, we went to Eagle Mountain, AKA Goat's Eye Mountain. I think this would be my last skiing for this season.

Little Lawson Peak

Cal suggested to go for Little Lawson Peak, so we did without snowshoes… Big mistake, nonetheless, we made it to the peak.

Yamnuska Bluffs

I went to Yamnuska Bluffs with CSMC for some outdoor rock climbing lesson since Shaun and Dan won't take me, bastards!!

Mosquito Mountain

I was thinking Mosquito for a while now. Finally I decided to go for it. Already much snow melted here which was unexpected.

Ostracized Peak to Sentry Mountain

Visiting my family in Crowsnest and of course my girlfriends, peaks!! I went Sentry Mountain and unnamed peak at GR710966.

Mount Baldy West Ridge

My first climber's scramble of the season. Mount Baldy via west ridge wasn't just about the crux. The second half of ascent was full of hands on scrambling to enjoy.

Tokyo & Nasu

I took a holiday and went back to Japan. It's been 3 years since I visited Japan last time. After the earthquake, things where little different.

Kagoshima

Southern Japan, Kagoshima. I don't even remember when the last time I visited my grandma. Maybe 7 years. I used to come here ever year.

After the Earthquake

Tree months after the earthquake which shook Japan in March 2011. I went to see a town hit by the devastating tsunami.

Chusonji

Went to see Chusonji. This temple was just registered as a world heritage while I was visiting Japan.

Nasudake

Why not go for a hike in Japan, especially when my parents live close to mountains now. So I went to 4 small peaks in Nasudake.

Mount Lefroy

What a memorable day this trip turned out to be. We were so lucky that we could summit the Mount Lefroy with the conditions we had.

Goat Mountain

Goat Traverse from Door Jamb to Yamnuska. It's not a long route but did took us 10 hours. I guess difficulty adds more time.

Wind Mountain

Wind Mountain AKA Mount Lougheed 4th peak with COC. It's a long approach but it's beautiful. Highly recommended.

Climbing at Wasootch Slabs

Plan B was no plan. But due to rain even though weather forecast was sunny all day, we had to come up with plan B. So Climbing at Wasooth.

Mount Ishbel

Someday I thought, but that someday came rather quickly. Vern, Ali and I drove to Banff to enjoy Mount Ishbel's fun ridge.

Diadem Peak

With CSMC, I attempted Mount Woolley and Diadem Peak. Couldn't get to Woolley but I still had lots of fun. It was beautiful.

Woolley's Moraine

Took advantage of free time in evening. I decided to go for another hike before sunset from Woolley-Diadem bivy site.

Mount Harrison

Long drive to BC, near Invermere. Mount Harrison, the most southerly 11,000er of the Canadian Rockies with CSMC.

Mount Bell

Alpine Climbing at NE ridge of Mount Bell. It was a long long day that I can say "It was full use of a day". Nice!!

Niblock to Whyte to Devil's Thumb

Haven't had such epical finish for a while. Everything was wonderful until descent from Mount Whyte. I was saved by the least expected helper.

Cathedral Mountain

Overnight bivy trip to Cathedral Mountain, AKA the best of the bests. Surely going up in sunrise time made this one even more special.

Tower of Babel

Killing time at Tower of Babel near Lake Louise. It was shorter than I expected but sure I had such a great view up there.

Mount Athabasca

Every time I came to Columbia Icefield, I always said it to myself, someday. Finally I have done Mount Athabasca. Such a good looking peak.

With COC, I went to "Smutwood Peak". It has been in my to-do list and yes it didn't disapointed me. Beautiful place it was.

Since I discover this peak by looking Topo map, I wanted to do this just because it had a cool name. With Raff and Eric, we got up the summit.

After slept in late, I still wanted to go for 3000er, so I picked Mount Chester. I expected to have a decent weather, but it snowed.

Chinook Peak Attempt

I estimated Rockies got a foot of snow but there were far more than that. Perhaps there was enough snow to cause avalanches at Flathead Range.

Mount Erickson

Erickson was one of the peaks I kept my eyes on for early or late season. After the dump of snow it was the time to switch my gear to easier ascent.

Elbow Four Peak Traverse

The famous big traverse of Mt. Glasgow – Mt. Cornwall – Outlaw Peak – Banded Peak. Oh man it was so awesome. Worth the suffering.

Helena Ridge to Stuart Knob

View became superb after the never-ending approach trail. Seeing this uniquely shaped range and peaks around Castle should be in "must list".

Mount Remus

Solo scrambling at Remus. Guessing the weather was little difficult this weekend but I picked a good peak. I had blue sky all day.

Ochre Spring Peak

Return to GR576724 with a different route. This time I made it to the summit without a problem. I nicknamed this unnamed peak, "Ochre Spring Peak".

Mount Charles Stewart South Peak

Oh how much I enjoy seeing Canmore from summits… Despite it's only a sub peak of Mount Charles Stewart, length of the trip was a full trip.

Mount Astley NE Peak

Another complete miss. Some reason I am unable to go to Mount Astley. But still another great day and great view in the Rockies.

Storm Mountain (Banff)

Late start + dead falls + slog up rubble + snow + high peak = evening scrambling at Storm Mountain in Banff. It's fun to do evening hike every once in a while.

Tent Ridge

Little cold but under beautiful sky, I went for a mid-long hike at Tent Ridge in KC. Climate wise, and snow wise, winter is almost there.

Santa gave me new PC after I gave him $1500. Fast and quite. I have to say for sure this is the best PC I ever owned.
