Below Treeline:
We parked at the overflow campground. From the parking, we immediately started bushwhacking towards a chimney we could see from the parking which gave us an easy route to avoid the cliffs (see page 2 & 4).

Ledge:
Right about where rock terrain started, we could see most of the way up to the summit. The first obstacle was a rockband which you can see in page 6. We used a ledge (top of Kristen's head in page 6) to go over it.

The Crux:
Everyone (even my grandma) talks about this small but icy chimney (page 15). I can see this chimney can be a problem when ice is exposed in late season (I'm guessing). Certainly bringing ice axe and crampons, or heater to melt the ice would be a good idea. For us though, there was still enough soft snow we only needed ice axe.

To the Summit:
March on!

Mouseover for somewhat where we went to.

Ben making mess.

PAGE 4: HIDE PAGE 4SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

We nicely arrived at a crack to bypass rockbands.

Great day and great view. Mouseover for peak pointers.

Kristen and the ledge we used to go up the rockband behind. The ledge starts about top of her head.

Marching to the summit.

PAGE 8: HIDE PAGE 8SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Still much snow left.

PAGE 9: HIDE PAGE 9SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Slogging our way up.

PAGE 10: HIDE PAGE 10SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Due to mechanical problem with my camera, I don't have any picture after previous page until the summit. Suddenly my camera started working.

PAGE 11: HIDE PAGE 11SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

We need more road.

PAGE 12: HIDE PAGE 12SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Freshfield Icefield.

PAGE 13: HIDE PAGE 13SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

North face has some glacier just like other peaks around here.

PAGE 14: HIDE PAGE 14SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Some steep section.

PAGE 15: HIDE PAGE 15SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

The troublesome chimney. I don't know how this chimney look like in later summer but we only needed to do kick steps. I felt ice blow snow.

PAGE 16: HIDE PAGE 16SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

NW ridge has some good cliff.

PAGE 17: HIDE PAGE 17SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Fast descent.

PAGE 18: HIDE PAGE 18SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Perhaps too fast?

PAGE 19: HIDE PAGE 19SHOW/HIDE PIC 1

Different view of the ledge from page 6.

Now bushwhacking began.
