It was a cold day. In fact it was the first cold winter day for the season, even though it was only Oct. The temperature was -10 C (14 F). Got new snow and all, I didn’t care much. I had to hike anyway.

So I went to unnamed ridges at Upper Canyon Creek. I don't even know if the name of this creek "Upper Canyon Creek" is the real name.

This dude appeared suddenly from cliff and glided right beside me and he did that twice. I think he wanted to eat me.

This is a good picture. Mouse over to see where I walked. As you can see there are series of ridges I could go.

Mountain behind is called Mount Bryant. There is a scramble route. Have to come back some day.

From the second highest peak I hiked that day. Looking at the last peak and the tallest peak I went.

Despite of cold air, there was no wind and still somewhat strong sun light made it warm while I was moving.

There was a close call when I was hiking there. I made mistake and I only had two choices. Jump off or go back and come back up on another route. I decided to jump off from about 6 to 7 feet high It should be ok right? But that is as long as landing is flat I found it out in a hard way. I jumped off and landed such steep angled slope I couldn't hang on and I rolled backward. If I couldn't stop myself from rolling for another 5 feet, I could have fallen off from another 6 feet height step. I could have seriously injured myself in middle of nowhere. But that didn't matter I don't think, I was smiling when I stopped and only thinking about taking picture of this spot... Adrenalin rush didn't happen. I had more adrenalin rush when I almost dropped a bread from a shelf at a store.

From the tallest peak. There are more ridges from here but the time was up. Originally I planed to go all the ridges you see here but obviously that was too much for a day hike.
